The College of Engineering / Al-Muthanna University was established on 7/24/2008, according to University Order No. 4450, with the determined efforts of a group of qualified professors and employees.
The college received its students for more than a year in order to prepare the requirements for the opening of the college, including methodological vocabulary, laboratories, workshops, and administrative and technical requirements.
Two scientific departments, the Department of Civil Engineering and the Department of Chemical Engineering, were opened at the beginning of its first academic year. In 2013, the Department of Architecture was opened, which includes (8) teachers holding postgraduate degrees in architecture and intermediate arts. The college includes, upon its establishment, 17 teaching staff holding higher degrees in various engineering disciplines and 30 employees from the administrative and technical cadres. Two years after its inauguration, the number of professors reached 43 teaching and 64 employees. .
