The scientific programs we offer
(BSC)

bachelor of Civil Engineering

The Civil Engineering program at Al-Muthanna University is considered a comprehensive and broad program, characterized by the supervision of a high-quality faculty. The importance of this program lies in its ability to provide the engineering knowledge necessary to build infrastructure and create a better environment for the community. The program offers a degree in General Civil Engineering that provides students with the knowledge necessary to use building materials and design steel and concrete structures, transportation and environmental systems, as well as specify management requirements for these structures and systems.

At A-level students are introduced to the fundamentals of engineering, making them eligible to progress onto most programs within the engineering group. Core program topics are covered at Level 2, in preparation for the design and implementation of project-led topic-specific modules at Levels 3 and 4.

At levels two, three and four, students study the majority of their modules in subjects that ensure the breadth of knowledge expected of a graduate with a civil engineering degree, allowing them to develop their wide-ranging interests in civil engineering work. Decisions on elective courses are made based on input from the personal trainer.

The program includes a required field course at Level 1 that students must pass to advance to Level 2, as well as optional field courses at Level 4. At the fourth level, all students undertake a group project (capstone project), which is developed and reinforced for each group of students through topics included in lecture modules or taught in dedicated practical modules, research seminars and tutorial programmes. These areas relate to problem solving from outside the university using library or data analysis, field or laboratory work.

Bachelor's degree - Chemical Engineering

The goal of this program is to graduate students of the highest quality who will demonstrate technical and professional leadership and who will go on to successful careers in industrial and other sectors of the economy. Students will achieve this goal by developing a strong foundation in the fundamental principles of science, mathematics, and engineering and using this to build sound practical experience and engineering judgment. Students will study basic chemical engineering topics and will be able to demonstrate your proficiency in these topics. This is a comprehensive, systems-based approach to analyzing and solving problems, the aim of which is to ensure that students are able to demonstrate the essential elements of chemical engineering to a high standard. Students will also study relevant business, economic and environmental subjects which will complement your core competencies creating a good graduate profile. The course will use a variety of learning and teaching methods to help you become an independent, well-rounded practitioner, and students will be expected to contribute to discussion with teaching staff and technicians during lectures, practical work and laboratories. We aim to encourage interdisciplinary interests, and you may find that as you become more aware of the chemical engineering industry, students' interests may develop in complementary directions. Therefore a variety of options are available in the final year of the program which provide specialist options to suit individual needs and career preferences. Examples of these options include choosing majors ranging from basic chemical engineering subjects to management and humanities options, as well as technical options from across the College of Engineering. As part of an integrated approach, students will also develop professional and transferable skills which include teamwork skills, time and project management, problem solving and proficiency in oral and written communication and presentation. Students will also gain a strong awareness of industry requirements for ethics, health and safety. This will expand your horizons and employability skills. At the end of this course, students will be fully qualified in Chemical Engineering but will also gain a series of specialist modules that will give you a foundation for employment in various industries. Therefore, upon successful completion of a student's degree, students will be industry-ready graduates with outstanding competencies across a wide range of technical and non-technical subjects.
